                                          Jamun (also called Indian blackberry or Java plum) is a dark purple tropical fruit scientifically known as Syzygium cumini . It is widely grown in India and other South Asian countries. Jamun has been used for centuries in Ayurveda because of its medicinal and nutritional properties. History and Origin Jamun is native to the Indian subcontinent. It has been mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic texts for treating digestion and blood sugar problems.
